At this year’s awards ceremony, we caught up with our 2018 winner, Adam Weymouth, and asked him what winning the prize means to him. Andrew Holgate, Literary Editor of The Sunday Times and chair of the judges, tells us why the judges were unanimous in their decision, and, speaking on behalf of our prize sponsors, Peters Fraser + Dunlop and the University of Warwick, Caroline Michel and Christine Ennew tell us why it’s so important to support new writers early on in their careers.
